A cozy living area surrounds an open fireplace.
The gas log fireplace has the look & feel of wood without
the mess. A 6' wide set of french doors flanked by full height
double hung windows create a wall of glass looking out over
a covered patio. Locally milled beetle-kill pine is used throughout
the addition. Exposed timber frame floor joists add character
to the space. The interior wall finish is the same beetle-kill
pine as the exterior siding.
Rustic
Interior
An upper level covered
deck off the master bedroom provides a private seating area. The
lower level deck creates an indoor/outdoor connection to the patio
area. Rusted corrugated metal roofing and "hog fence"
railings add to the rustic character of the building. Exposed
timber framing and siding are salvaged from locally harvested
beetle-kill pine trees.
Rustic
Exterior
The one room main level
features a full kitchen. A stone backsplash gives an old world
feel with all the conveniences of modern appliances. The radiant
heated floors are coverd with Colorado Doug-Fir flooring. The
wide plank flooring is rough sawn and sanded for an aged look.

A Western sytle bar provides a place to sit &
relax. The bar features oak arm rest and a brass foot rest.
The bar also creates a division of space between the open living
and kitchen areas. It also serves as a visual barrier of the
island & sink below.
